Hy-Vee is anticipating the start of construction of a Fast & Fresh mini-grocery store at the corner of Hickman and Merle Hay Road. With the mini-store concept, fresh food will be conveniently located at your fingertips.
Set to break ground next summer, the mini-store concept provides locations bigger than a convenience store, but smaller than a typical Hy-Vee grocery store. The mini-market will provide fresh food, Starbucks coffee, and Market Grille entrees in a slightly smaller venue.
The smaller footprint will enable Hy-Vee to provide fresh, healthy options for many growing neighborhoods without the need for large parcels of land.

Fun exciting new things are in store for downtown Des Moines!
Downtown is already a thriving area with bustling businesses, trendy shops, delicious restaurants, and beautify scenery – and it is about to become even more lively. Construction on the 21C Museum Hotel is scheduled to begin this summer. This high-rise project, being developed by Mandelbaum Properties, adds a boutique hotel and apartments to downtown. Modern art will be featured in the hotel lobby, on the skyway level, and will be tucked into unexpected nooks and crannies. The project will add to the already vibrant art scene in Des Moines.
In addition, the high-rise building will be a “mixed-use” project as a movie theatre will also be a part of the development. Adding the movie theatre along with the rotating art exhibitions will entice people to visit and move into our already active downtown.

Here is some exciting news! The southeast quadrant of the I-35/I-80 intersection, currently under construction, will soon feature one the largest leasable warehouse space available between Minneapolis and Chicago. When completed, the two buildings will provide over one million sq. ft. of zone H-1, heavy industrial use space.
Beyond the size, the project is notable because of it’s location, offering tenants direct access to both Interstate 35 and Interstate 80. Constructed and owned by Graham Warehouse, Phase 1, which includes the first building (312,000 sq. ft.), will be completed in October or November of 2018 and Phase 2, which includes the larger, second building (675,000 sq. ft.), will be completed in April 2019.
Both buildings offer a 24’ minimum clear height with 50’ x 50’ column spacing. Each 50’-wide bay features its own dock door, heavy-duty dock leveler, dock seal and man door. Lets talk more about this exciting project and all of your commercial real estate wants and needs.
